Phewa lakes
Phewa Lake, majestic in stretch and beauty, is the second largest lake of Nepal. Foremost attraction in the lake is the pagoda style temple which holds the shrine of Barahi or Water Goddess. Another attraction is the amazing image of Mt. Machhapuchhre and Annapurna in the clear water of the lake. One is advised to view the south-eastern side of Phewa Lake for it has the best views. Tourists can also indulge in activities like fishing and canoeing. Several varieties of fish can be found in the lake. Nearby forest is the residence of numerous animals and birds.
Begnas Lake
Begnas Lake, the second largest lake of Pokhara Valley, is 13 K.M away from Pokhara, there you can also explore another 6 lakes . The lake is a nice destination for the tourists who want to pass some time in seclusion. They can indulge in activities like boating and fishing. Nearby jungle is the residence of more than 150 species of birds. Water fowls can be observed from the northern part of the lake.
Sailing in the Lake
Phewa Lake in Pokhara is very much liked by the tourists. Lakeside is the center of tourism activities in Pokhara. Begnas and Rupa Tal are located in the outskirts of Pokhara you can feel the experience there also. Hiring a boat for an hour for an hour or two, and sailing in middle or to the other side of the water body, is a refreshing experience. Nepal provides some fine opportunities for boating.
Seti River
It is a mysterious wonder of Pokhara. Slicing through the beautiful Mansalu and Annapurna regions, river Seti offers a short rafting expedition. The warm blue water makes Seti river a popular choice for winter trips. The dreamers sit on the banks of the river and watch its waters jumping up and falling down. The sight is very refreshing.

David falls
One of the most famous tourist attractions in Pokhara is Davis Falls. Source of water in Davis Fall or Patale Chango (in Nepali) is flowing water of Phewa Lake. The Fall looks very impressive specially during the rainy season. There is also a cave near the falls.
Gupteshwar Cave
Gupteshwar Cave or Gupreswar Gupha, considered sacrosanct by the locals, is 2 K.M from Pokhara airport. The 3 K.M long cave has some large hall-like rooms and some passages where one is forced to crawl. A Shivalinga, phallic symbol of Hindu Lord Shiva, is preserved in the cave.
Mahendra Cave
A popular Pokhara tourist destination, Mahendra Cave has been named after the late King Mahendra Bir Bikram Shah Dev. The cave has been fitted with lighting system for the convenience for the tourists. Mahendra Cave is known for its rock types and stones that glitter when a beam of light hits them.
Bat Cave
Just a ten minutes’ walk from the Mahendra Cave, you can find another cave named the Bat Cave. In Nepali language, it is also called Chameri Gufa. As the name suggests, it is named after the bats as there is the prevalence or the habitats of the bats over the cave’s wall and the ceilings. The cave is made of up the limestone and there is the provision of the torch and the emergency lights for the view of the cave. Also, there is the provision of the guides for the assistance. Apart from it is attraction, it is also rich in greenery as the surroundings of the cave is covered by the forest.

World Peace Pagoda / Shanti Stupa
Balanced on a narrow ridge high above Phewa Tal, the brilliant-white Shanti Stupa in Pokhara is a massive Buddhist stupa which was constructed by Buddhist monks from the Japanese Nipponzan Myōhōji organization. Besides being an impressive sight in itself, the shrine is a vantage point which offers spectacular views of the Annapurna range and Pokhara city. The shining golden statue depicts the Buddha in the posture he assumed when he was born
Bindavasini Temple
Bindhyabasini Temple is of great religious importance to Hindus living in the Pokhara region. It is a vital hub of religious fervor. The temple itself is dedicated to the Hindu goddess Durga, who is pokhara’s chosen guardian deity. Durga, also known as Shakti or Kali has numerous manifestations and at the Bindabasini temple she is seen as Bhagwati, a blood-thirsty aspect of the goddess. Durga appears in the form of a Saligram. A Saligram, according to Hindu mythology is an propitious stone.
International Mountain Museum
International Mountain Museum is a great place to visit of you has some extra time in Pokhara. It has lots of information about the trekking and Mountaineering history of Nepal.IMM was opened on February 5, 2004.The museum primarily provides information and exhibits everything related to Man, Mountain and Mountain activities from around the world.The museum contains three main exhibitions halls – Hall of Great Himalayas, Hall of Fame and Hall of World Mountains.
Bandipur
The small town of Bandipur straddles the ridge of a hill overlooking the Kathmandu-Pokhara road. About 3 hours drive from Kathmandu, Pokhara or Chitwan, it is a great spot to break your journey and explore traditional Nepalese life.
Dhampus
Dhampus, a name of a fabulous village, is situated at an altitude of 1750m above sea level, in the western Nepal. The village is very famous among tourists because it provides visitors with breathtaking panoramic views of Mt Dhaulagiri, Mt Annapurna, mt Fishtail, Mt Himchuli, Lamjung Himal and many other mountains. It is just 18 km away from the beautiful city of Pokhara, in the North West.
